Secrets in the Shadows, Piano Duet.
The piece begins with Open 5ths with even rhythm eighth notes that “chatter” between the hands - maybe like a rumor that’s just getting started… The clashing harmonies create tension - building a sense of urgency. When the melody emerges in m. 9, the staccato notes played while the Sustain pedal is used, creates a bell tone like sound - let it sparkle! This is also a great piece to work on syncopation, since the melody notes are “off the beat”.
This splashy showstopper duet is based on the popular Solo from Castle Tales Vol. 1, by the same name. The Duet captures the same urgency and excitement of the Solo, but now, it's two times the fun!
