Off in the distance, I hear a bird calling.
Is it a mocking bird?
Is it alone, or calling to a friend?
As the sun rises, I see brilliant red painted on the Canyon walls.
Even the Little Red River that cuts through the Bluffs, gets it’s name from the surrounding red rocks.
Wide open spaces, as far as the eye can see.
Rescued Buffalos have a home here- they freely roam.
High in the sky, it’s hard to see, but there it is!
A Red tail hawk, soaring- as if he is surveying his domain.
His cry lingers over the Canyon.
