This arrangement is inspired by my Method Book - 20 Favorite Christmas Songs: How to Play Lead Sheets. Let’s get started! In this carol, we move to the key of G. Can you identify each chord symbol? There are a few new ones here. Study each chord to learn what notes belong. Have you ever seen a Slash chord before? C/G…… more information about this in my Method Book. Both hand always stay in G position. It’s an ideal place to start!
Bonus - Practice playing all 3 chords as repeated quarter notes and switch back & forth. Can you do this smoothly and quickly?
Teaching Suggestion: Could your students make this an ensemble? Have some play the Right hand melody and others play the chords. Encourage your student to brainstorm possibilities.
