We Three Kings, Late Elementary/Teen-Adult Beginner, Inspired by my Lead Sheet Method Book

$4.00

We Three Kings

You’ll love this fun arrangement - its suitable for recitals and pure enjoyment!

This arrangement is inspired by my Method Book - 20 Favorite Christmas Songs: How to Play Lead Sheets.

The Waltz pattern is one that is perhaps overused - you see it everywhere, so therefore, it’s a pattern you definitely need in your tool kit!

Bonus - What are some different ways to play a Waltz pattern? Can you find at least 2 in this piece? Can you transpose this pattern to other keys? This is a great skill to know.

Teaching Suggestion: What other patterns might work well with this melody? Maybe start with dotted half notes, or broken triads! Encourage your student to brainstorm possibilities.

Key: E Natural Minor and G Major

Time signature: 3/4. BPM = 144

Skill development: Left hand pattern as taught in my Method Book - 20 Favorite Christmas Songs: How to Play Lead Sheets. Study this arrangement to see how many other patterns I use, as well as: identify the chord symbols, what other chord tones are included? Find the chord symbol. Identify what notes are in the Em, D, C, B, G, and D7 chords. Steady beat - repeated quarters. Switching back & forth smoothly & quickly between chords. Point out the Relative Major/Minor qualities of this piece. Reading easy notation. Look for arpeggios.

Level: Late Elementary, Teen/Adult Beginners

How long: 48 measures - Too short? 2 Pages. 1:20 minute performance time.

This is a Single License: One purchase - One copy. Thank for honoring the composer’s work by not sharing with anyone. Encourage them to purchase their own copy please!
