Silent Night, Elementary Piano, Inspired by my Lead Sheet Method Book

$3.00

Silent Night

Simple & Elegant! Folks love to sing along with this one, so if you need to, feel free to repeat from the beginning. Use the last 4 measures as an optional Introduction or transition between repeats.

This arrangement is inspired by my Method Book - 20 Favorite Christmas Songs: How to Play Lead Sheets. Often times, Simple is better. In this carol we explore Open 5ths, but in various Octaves. Can you identify each chord symbol? There are a few new ones here. Study each chord to learn what notes belong. Use the pedal to make this sound more grand! There’s more information about this in my Method Book.

Bonus - Practice playing all 3 chords as repeated quarter notes and switch back & forth. Can you do this smoothly and quickly?

Teaching Suggestion: Use the pedal to make this sound more grand! Encourage your student to brainstorm more possibilities.

Key: C Major.

Time signature: 3/4. BPM = 108

Skill development: Left hand pattern as taught in my Method Book - 20 Favorite Christmas Songs: How to Play Lead Sheets. Study this arrangement to see how many other patterns I use, as well as: identify the chord symbols, what other chord tones are included? Find the chord symbol. Identify what notes are in the C, F, and G, chords. Moving smoothly between Octaves. Moving hand positions between notes with ease. Make sure the melody is playing in a beautiful, lyrical way.

Level: Elementary

How long: 24 - Too short? Play it again! Need an intro? Use the last line. 1 Page. 1:00 minute performance time.

This is a Single License: One purchase - One copy. Thank for honoring the composer’s work by not sharing with anyone. Encourage them to purchase their own copy please!
