The tune, "Divinum mysterium", which is more widely known as “Of the Father’s Love Begotten” is a Medieval Plainsong Chant, appropriate for Advent, Christmas or anytime.

Although the tune is ancient, this arrangement by Susan Staples Bell is very contemporary; using syncopations in the melody like you might hear in a Praise service; yet it’s easily accessible for the Traditional Church Pianist. Beautifully set, it is contemplative; the Cello part is reminiscent of a Mother’s lullaby- much like reassuring humming, and descriptive of how our Heavenly Father wants to enfold us in love.
